IDEA--Coffee Shop Theology

There are several ideas for sermon series that I've come up with and I realize that we'll never use all of them.  So, I've decided to share them here in case some other creative needs a spark.

I found this book and it brought to mind that most believers have a very thin theological base.  So, why not focus a series ( could even be a continuing series over the course of a couple of years ) on the basic theology of our faith.

Some of the topics (taken from and based on the table of contents):

God

In the beginning God... The existence of God
Nearby and Far Away--Transendence and Immanence
One Plus One Plus One= The Trinity
The Unseen Hand of God- Providence
What is God like?--The Attributes of god
The First day of Everything--Creation
Someone to Watch Over Me--Angels

Stage Ideas:

Starbucks looking--Greens/Browns
Funky lights suspended
Coffee smell when you arrive
Coffee tables set up on stage--simulate places of conversation

Special-- A coffee house set up for conversations to continue after services
